Welcome to the Grand Champion ID site.
Here we aim to show you all the beautiful horses made by Marchon and Empire. These beautiful horses are no longer available in toy stores, and can only be found by finding collectors.
The Grand Champion (GC) enjoys recognition with collectors around the world. With their pretty poses, great colours and brush-able manes and tail, every little girl loves them, and many are now today's collectors.
A Brief History
Grand Champions are hard plastic model horses, with brush-able manes and tails, and measuring about 6 inches (15 cm), roughly about the size of Breyer's classic horses.
Their story began in the late 80s and ended in 2007. They were owned by Empire Toys and manufactured by Marchon Industries. They were available in America, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Europe. In 2000, Empire Toys declared bankruptcy and Grand Champions all but vanished, until Alpha International came along and brought the rights. Alpha continued to market the Grand Champion range, until 2007, when the beautiful model horse once more vanished, perhaps forever.
They came in a variety of colours, styles and poses. Some came with a range of accessories, some came simply with a brush. Some of the horses came with movement (Nuzzling Horses) or sound, some came with both.
Grand Champions had a range of accessories, from beautiful tack sets, to stalls and stables and everything in between.
Please enjoy your visit here, if you can offer any help please email us.
